Aligning Narrative for a Growing Nonprofit

client

The Sharing Center

The Sharing Center was founded with a clear mission: to address hunger and homelessness.

Over 30 years, the organization expanded its services significantly, evolving into a more comprehensive model that addressed changing community needs. As the organization grew, its communications did not fully reflect the scale, complexity, or evolution of its work.

Situation

Clarify and unify how the organization communicates its mission, impact, and expanded services across audiences, ensuring consistent understanding among staff, leadership, and donors.

Challenge

We partnered closely with the team to develop a unified messaging foundation built on listening and alignment.

This included:

  • Engaging internal and external stakeholders to surface perspectives and misconceptions

  • Conducting a comprehensive audit of existing messaging and communications materials

  • Aligning narrative direction with organizational and fundraising priorities

The goal was to create a clear and consistent messaging framework that could be used across all platforms and audiences.

Strategy

Unified Organizational Narrative | Internal Alignment & Clarity | Strengthened Fundraising Narrative

  • Established a shared messaging foundation that was integrated across key communications channels, including a redesigned website, updated marketing materials, and donor-facing assets.

  • Strengthened internal alignment by providing staff, leadership, and board members with consistent language to describe the organization’s work

  • The unified messaging framework was integrated across Clarified and aligned donor-facing messaging in advance of a transformational $1M gift.
